Faculty and Staff
The faculty and staff of Middle East University are friendly professionals who are devoted to excellence in education. Their academic background, training, and experience qualify them to be adequate listeners, wise counselors, perceptive advisors, and exceptional instructors. It is a recognized fact that MEU faculty and staff care about their learners and have their welfare in mind and at heart.
“Education can be defined as the process of attending to, asserting, and deciding upon content with persons in the context of their community and society. This first suggests that education is a process, an interaction of persons over time. This interaction includes three particular elements: content, persons, and context. Content includes cognitive, affective, intentional, and lifestyle aspects. Persons include teachers, students or participants, and a host of others represented in the educational encounter. Relationships among persons in education include the immediate participants in a variety of roles. The teacher may also assume the role of an educator-educatee and the student may assume the role of educatee-educator in a relationship of mutuality and dialogue. The context of education is the community and society as well as a variety of educational structures that themselves interact in a configuration or an ecology of education” (By What Authority Do We Teach?, pp. 102, 103).
