More than 10,000 Patients Seen on Mission Trip

MEU students Peter Karadsheh, Gina and Conseula Khoueiry, Naissa N’diaye, Peter Nissem and Service Learning Coordinator, Sara Saunders, went on an international mission trip to Jos state, Nigeria from June 12-29, 2017. Coordinated by Loma Linda University Health, Adventist Health International, over 400 volunteers helped provide medical and chaplaincy care to more than 10,000 patients.

“I want to be a missionary now,” said Consuela as she shared her experience at the University Church afterwards. Consuela is studying pre-med at MEU in preparation to be a doctor. Though only in her first year, she was able to assist in the surgery section. This practical introduction to medicine in a real-life mission setting touched her heart and she is now more determined than ever to serve God in the medical field.
